Freight services built around the lane, not the brochure

Air, ocean, road and warehousing — quoted by the people who will actually run the job.

What a quote covers

Included, and charged separately

Quoted in writing before the booking is accepted. Nothing on the right appears on an invoice unless it was agreed first.

Included in the rateCharged separately, agreed first
Air freightCollection, terminal handling, airline rate, arrival handling, delivery, standard documentationDuty and tax, dangerous-goods surcharge, charter, storage past free time, tail-lift at an unequipped site
Ocean freightCollection, origin terminal, sea freight, destination terminal, delivery, bill of ladingDuty and tax, demurrage and detention, inspection, fumigation, container cleaning
Road freightCollection, line haul, delivery, up to 30 minutes loading and unloadingWaiting time past 30 minutes, failed delivery, redelivery, tail-lift, timed slot, out-of-hours

What moves a price

Why two quotes for the same box differ

Weight is rarely the deciding factor. These are the things that actually change what a shipment costs, in rough order of impact.

  • Volumetric weight — a light, bulky pallet is priced on the space it occupies, not the scale
  • Lane direction — the same route can differ by half depending on which way the equipment is short
  • Deadline — next-flight-out against consolidated lift is the single biggest lever
  • Access at both ends — no dock, no forklift, a timed slot or a residential delivery all add cost
  • Commodity — dangerous goods, temperature control, high declared value
  • Season — space tightens before major holidays and rates follow

Also handled

The parts nobody advertises

Unglamorous, and the reason a shipment either clears or sits.

Customs & duty

Entry, classification, duty deferment and bonded movement, prepared by the desk that booked the freight.

Cargo insurance

Placed on request, against the declared value, with the terms in writing before the shipment moves.

Packing & crating

Export wrapping, palletising and crating specified at booking rather than improvised on the dock.

Project cargo

Surveys, lift plans and route checks for anything that will not fit through a normal door.

Reverse logistics

Returns, RMA collection and consolidated back-hauls run on the same tracking record.

Proof of delivery

Captured at the door and filed against the shipment, retrievable long after the driver has gone.
